Search the online newspaper archive
Search over 9 million articles with Clipsearch, the UK’s online newspaper archive. We feature articles from over 140 UK publications such as The Times, Daily Mail, Independent and various regional publications as well.
Clipsearch goes back to January 2006 and articles are posted 72 hours after publication – meaning if the article ran in the paper three days ago, if will be featured in our newspaper archive today.
Searching the archive is easy - you can search by headline, journalist, title, publication or keyword. You will always be taken to the original article (same layout and context as it appeared in the newspaper) and you can even search different editions of a paper. Our advanced search allows you to find articles containing images and you can set up an alert service to notify you when articles with your search terms become available.
Every page is presented with a thumbnail and summary, and you have the option of downloading it in clip view (original, ready-to-print PDF with headlines and images) or page view (original, ready-to-print PDF of the page it was published on – including other stories and advertisements). A clip requires one credit and a page costs two. Please see our pricing section for pay-as-you go and subscription charges.
The newspaper archive is useful if you are an agency requiring press clippings on behalf of a client, a small business who has been mentioned in the press and requires the original article, or even a corporate doing research on a competitor.
Or maybe you missed last week’s paper and there was a feature on your favourite football team that you would like a permanent copy of. Perhaps you are looking for a newspaper from a specific date such as a birthday, celebrity greatest moment or obituary – the Clipsearch newspaper archive has it all back to 2006!
